2015-09-14 Vieux Port, Bastia to Macinaggio, Corsica, France Ric and Rod set off on the bikes to do some shopping Meanwhile Kate and I get a few more photos overlooking the sea and the port A few ferries in the other port nearby Kate lined up with the port’s starboard and port entrance lights The boys return and start preparing the boat for departure There is still a swell coming into the harbour this morning Just before noon we make our departure Goodbye Bastia We continue north up the coast Cap Corse from Bastia We pass numerous ancient lookouts … and a few lovely residences on the water’s edge Macinaggio, our destination for the night comes into view The town is quite small and is situated very close to the northern tip of Corsica on Cap Corse Tangaroa in Macinaggio Napoleon Bonaparte arrived in Macinaggio after escaping from Isola d’Elba where he was exiled The port is filling up with visiting yachts this afternoon The main street of Macinaggio Plenty of greenery around the local church It was quite a long walk back to the boat We have some drinks and nibbles at 5pm Kate who adores cats has already made a few friends Further along the pier there was a large family of cats which were fed by the visiting sailors, including us!!
