2015-08-28 Talamone to Forte Rochetta, Toscana , Italy Early morning over Talamone Talamone is a small ancient walled village As we needed some supplies, we leave the Tangaroa and go ashore to the village The entrance to the walled village of Talamone The narrow alleys of the town are quite charming The piazza in the village is high up in the village and overlooks the port A couple of tasteful eateries have been set up here Ric selects some bread at the local bakery The bakers next door working hard in the heat We walk up to the tower which unfortunately opens at 5pm A wonderful view along the coast from by the old tower From Talamone we can see Isola Elba where we intend going in a couple of days A popular swimming area in Talamone by the rocks We just bought a whole heap of vegetables from this lovely young man who spoke a little English A few market stalls are conveniently set up by the port Once back to the boat we pull up our anchor and leave the delightful small village We continue north west up the the coast We pass a few floating logs in the water We pass Castiglione Della Pescaia with it’s privately owned castle Further up the coast we approach a possible anchorage for the night Arriving at Forte Rochetta By the point with the fort is a long beach with plenty of those coloured umbrellas By sunset we were the only boat left moored in the bay Leave a Reply Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
