2015-08-09 Lacco Ameno, Ishica Island to Cala di Corricella, Procida Island
After a rocky and rolly night the morning was very calmLacco Ameno where we stayed has numerous hotels and is a popular holiday destination on Ischia IslandDuring summer the bay is also full of boats of all sizesIl Funghi the well photographed mushroom shaped rock in the bayWe depart as more boats begin to arriveNot far along the coast we pass Porto d’IschiaWe then head back to the island of Procida which is close by IschiaThe tiny islet called Vivara is joined to Procida by a bridgeIn the northern bay beside the bridge the cliffs and rock structures look very interestingSome of the houses are certainly living on the edgeWe take every opportunity to have a swim in the hot weatherOn both sides of the bridge are reasonable anchorages for boatsThe pretty port of Chiaiolella is quite small and the marina is unfortunately booked out all summerThere are some lovely homes by the water along the coastAs usual around 5.30pm there s a mass exit of boats from most baysWe make our way back to beautiful Cala di CorricellaA lot of boats are on anchor quite close in the bay tonight as an electrical storm is expected in the eveningThere even is a mobile bar in the bay incase someone was desperate for a drinkRic cooks us a delicious steak for dinnerLater, the evening sky began to darken with heavy cloudsFor a couple of hours there was quite a spectacular thunder and lightning display
