2015-08-08 Castello d’Ishica to Lacco Ameno, Ishica Island La Marinella, the southern side of the causeway which connects the Aragonese castle to mainland Ischia gave us good shelter overnight The Castello D’Ischia A small ristorante for visiting boats is close by This morning we leave the anchorage and motor south to have a look around the island A sheltered bay in the south east by Punta San Pancrazio A comfortable motor yacht passes by In the distance we can see the port of Sant’ Angelo In southern Ischia by Lido di Maronti are many hot springs We drop our anchor by the springs and spend a couple of hours swimming and relaxing here The eastern side of Sant’ Angelo The breakwater at the entrance to the small Sant’ Angelo harbour The Port of Sant’ Angelo Everywhere the Italians travel at high speed!! These young people were almost swamped by passing boats On the western side of Sant’ Angelo Point is another bay which is busy with many boats of all sizes on anchor Attractive white washed houses cling to the cliffs while the coloured umbrellas have taken over the small beach here in Sant’ Angelo The rocks are popular alternative for the young bathers The western end of the large bay by Sant’ Angelo attracts quite a few boats Ristorantes can be found in many of the small bays We continue our circumnavigation of the island enjoying the amazing scenery along the coast The unusual rock formations have the most intense colours Approaching Foria d’Ischia on the mid west coast We continue on past the old port of Forio d’Ischia These amazing houses with swimming pools are built over the rocks on the extreme north west corner of Ischia We arrive in Lacco Ameno on the north coast We decide to join quite a few other boats and drop anchor here for the night Pietra del Lacco, a conspicuous rock in the bay is also known as ‘Il Funghi’ Lacco Ameno Leave a Reply Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
