2015-08-07 Cala di Corricella, Isola di Procida to Castello d’Ishica, Ishica Island The beautiful bay of Cala di Corricella on Procida Island We pull up our anchor for our move to Ischia Island Looking back to the Castello We head south down the coast of Procida Island Punta Socciaro on the south east tip of Procida with Ischia in the background Another prominent castle on the nearby island of Ischia The Aragonese castle that is on an islet on the east coast of Ischia Island Porto d’Ischia only a short distance north of the castle The narrow entrance to the small harbour We drop our anchor by the Ischia port Ric takes the dinghy to go to the PO to see if our mail had arrived from Australia Mid afternoon we find a mooring for the night in the southern bay by the castle The Aragonese Castle stands on volcanic rock and was built in 474BC The castle on the islet is joined to Ischia by a causeway which was first constructed in stone in the 1400’s after replacing a wooden bridge We were not the only ones enjoying the water today A few clouds and a few raindrops for a change in the evening Some divers at work tonight Sunset A concert ashore kept us entertained with nice Italian music all evening Ric is chef tonight creating a delicious picante vegetarian pasta sauce The spinach and riccotta ravioli was freshly made by a deli we visited today Leave a Reply Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
