2015-08-01 Marina Davide, Castellammare di Stabia to Marina del Cantone, Nerano The weather is very hot so the shades are down on the Tangaroa this morning Before departing from Castellammare di Stabia we thought we would visit the local archeological site We visit Villa Arianna which is part of an ancient site in the town which was covered by ash after the eruption of Vesuvius in 79AD The frescos in the rooms of the large villa are so well preserved for their age The wonderful view of Vesuvius and the bay of Naples from Villa Arianna After our visit to the villa we return through the town to the marina At lunchtime we depart from our berth at the Marina Porto Davide in Castellammare di Stabia Friendly Giovanni comes out especially to say goodbye The Marina Porto Davide in Castellammare di Stabia is one of the cleanest, tidiest and well organised marina we had visited As we leave the port the breakwater was covered with thousands of birds We certainly will return here in the future We return down the coast and once again pass the wonderful town of Sorrento We continue to the southern coast of the Sorrento Peninsular We pick up one of the Maria Grazia Restaurant moorings and make a verbal booking as friendly restaurant guests are being ferried to the shore After our wonderful lunch here last week with Don and Susie, we had to return to the Maria Grazia Restaurant We start with the stuffed zucchini flowers Next we enjoy the fabulously fresh tender octopus For our main course tonight we have the baked fresh fish with lemon We order grilled vegetables to accompany our fish Maria Grazia Restaurant is always busy both at lunch and dinner A couple of Salvatore’s home made Limoncellos accompany two amazing desserts – what a way to finish a lovely dinner! Tonight we were lucky enough to get a special table for two overlooking the beach and the bay It was great to catch up with Marco and his friends again, who happen to be dining at Maria Grazia tonight A nice view of the boats moored in the bay Leave a Reply Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
