2015-07-07 Punta Longa, Favignana Island to Colombus Marina, Trapani, Sicily Our departure from Punta Longa Passing an unfinished hotel nearby The fishermen have been busy all morning A local swimming spot The entrance to Cala Rossa on the north east corner of Favignana Island Crystal clear turquoise water greets us in this beautiful bay In ancient times the surrounding rock in the bay has been carved out to make houses by the water Shapes of old dwellings can still be seen in the bay Much rock in the area has been harvested for building While swimming I had a friendly bird paddle over for a chat Tangaroa in Carla Rossa Lots of photos being taken here !! Many locals and visitors of Favignana come to Carla Rossa to swim in the amazing coloured water Tripper boats also call into the bay After several hours of enjoying this picturesque bay we head back to the the Sicilian mainland Isola Formica is a small islet between Levanzo Island and Trapani that has a tunny factory which appears to rise out of the water Hydrofoils travel at very fast paces ferrying people to the islands We arrive back in Trapani as we still have not finalised the repair on our generator The old lighthouse of Trapani Leave a Reply Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
