Pierre and MarianneGoodbye to our new friendsWe had very pleasant time staying at the Marina Lega Navale Italia in Sciacca
Once we left the port we continued west along the Sicilian south west coastWe approach the ancient site of SelinunteThe small town receives many tourists over the summer months visiting the famous ancient siteThe magnificent Greek acropolis which has been reassembled, dates back to around 600 BCOther temples of the area are from around 400 BCAlong the coast were kilometres of sandy beachesThe white tower of Capo ScarioContinuing west we enter a very dense sea mistOur original plan was to go into Mazara Del Vallo and visit the ancient sites nearby however we had been in marinas too long and we were keen to anchor out before going into TrapaniWe head towards the island of Favignana which is approximately 6 km from the Sicilian west coastApproaching the island the Aragonese fort can be seen on Montagna GrossaWe anchor in the bay beside Punta Longa in the south of the islandA few yachts are moored in the bay and people are swimming off the rocks nearbyAn Australian family who are cruising in the area, call past in their tender to say helloAfter a long swim in the not so warm water (only 20 degrees) we have our first night on anchor for quite some timeA full moon tonightJet streams in the darkening horizonThe fort is well lit up at nightWonderful colours at sunset
