The Coast Guard vessel leaves Siracusa port this morningLeaving the marina we return to the Grand HarbourWe call past the Restless of Auckland before heading across the bay for a swim in cleaner waterWe drop anchor in the southern side of the large bayNearby is an exposed rock which gives us a destination to swim to and fromSome German visitors stop by briefly nearby to have a swim too and take some selfies!!In the southern bay there is a small beach in the corner and it appears that we are the only boat in the areaThe grand house on the point with the pool has had some bad luck recently!There are some nice holiday homes in the area along the seafrontThis waterside house looks delightfulAnother nice home on the waters edgeA superb view of the castle from the south side of the bayAnd also the rest of Ortigia IslandWe call past our friends on our return to the safe anchorage in the north of the bayPlenty of smiles from Consie and LizHi also to John and Eva on the DestinyIt has become a busy anchorage in the Grand Harbour today with over 20 boats from over 12 nationalities of which 2 were Australian and 2 were from New ZealandWe find a spot to drop our anchorA nice view of the restaurants along Lunomare AlfeoThe unfinished marina and new town quay with the rear of the Church del Collegio dei Gesuiti in the backgroundA few clouds start appearing early eveningWe may get a few drops of rain overnightAnother spectaclular sunset over the bay
