2018-07-28 Cala Pregonda to Cala Fornells, Menorca, Islas Baleares, Spain

Another glorious day today here in Menorca.  We have decided to go into the Fornells for a couple of days to stock up and get on terra firma for a day
In Menorca there is no shortage of Menorquins of all sizes …. this one arrives as we prepare to leave Cala Pregonda
As we leave Cala Pregonda we look back to the rugged hills behind the bay and the long path visitors to the beach have to climb before another long walk to their vehicles
We pass the busy Cala Cavalleria on our short trip east
Looking back to Capo Cavalleria
It is not long before we enter the Fornells and again see the white houses lining the shore and the torre on the hill behind
We drop our anchor in the area in the bay which is allocated for free anchoring
Ric and I go ashore to have a walk around and stretch our legs and do some shopping
There are quite a few shops here in the Fornells

After visiting the supermarket and changing the gas cylinder we make our way back to our dinghy

In the evening we again leave the boat and go ashore
We are looking forward to our first meal out for quite sometime
We arrive at Restaurant Llagosta at 8.30 as we had booked
We chose to sit inside with air conditioning as the humidity and temperature this evening was still quite high
We were given a lovely table by one of the open windows at the front of the restaurant
We start off with a delicious tomato salad
For entree we share a wonderful grilled calamari dish
Ric orders a very nice vino tinto
For main course we decided to try one of the amazing signature dishes of lobster grilled with a picante sauce …… absolutely amazing ……the best we have had outside of Tasmania
For dessert we share a wonderfully delicious apple tart and a couple of Spanish dessert wines
We had a wonderful evening and it was well worth the expense and the experience dining at Llagosta
The fabulous staff looking after us at Llagosta
