2017-08-06 La Marina Real Juan Carlos 1, Valencia, Spain

Today is another very windy and hot day here in Valencia
There seems to be less people on the beach today, perhaps because of the heat and the strong waves
To get some exercise and cool down we head off on the bikes and ride along the foreshore by the America’s Cup port area
During the Americas’s Cup these restaurants and bars would have been full however things have changed
We then head along the busy Malvarossa Beach promenade
This young man proudly stands by his sand castle artwork
The Malvarossa Beach is situated north beside the La Marina Real Juan Carlos 1
The large elegant Hotel Balneario Las Arenas has a wonderful position directly by the beach
Many restaurants line both sides of the beach promenade
The Malvarossa Beach is a wide open beach with fine sand and is approximately 1 km long with a width of about 135 m
The very long promenade is ideal for walking, jogging and fabulous for riding
Several sand artworks appear along the foreshore and to keep them from collapsing they need to be sprayed with water regularly
Feeling quite hungry after passing so many restaurants, we decide to have a late lunch at El Coso which seemed to be very popular
Lots of Spanish wines on display by our table
The Restaurant had a Sunday special for E20 a head which gave you a choice of an entree each and sharing a paella of your choice for 2 people. We decided to try it!!
We ordered a dish of delicious mussels
……and the refreshing garden salad with eggs and tuna
The very well cooked seafood paella arrived which we commented on to the waiter. His reply was this is how we cook paella in Spain!!
After stirring up and scraping the dish, it did improve somewhat however the seafood was certainly a little too overdone for our liking!!!
A chocolate dessert arrived which was recommended by the waitress, who obviously has a very sweet tooth!!!
In the evening we join Aage and Jytte on their lovely yacht for drinks
As our Danish friends we departing in the morning, it was nice to catch up with them once again
